Walnut Blasting (Carbon Cleaning)
VRT offers a walnut blasting service at their workshop in Slough.
There are clear benefits to having the carbon build-up in your engine removed by walnut blasting. We use finely crushed walnut shells, which are a biodegradable abrasive, to clear out the carbon build-up in your car’s intake manifold and valves via a high-pressure blast. This will help your car run better, it will prevent wear and tear, will extend your engine lifespan, and importantly, will save you money in the long run.
Carbon is a tough substance, really hard to remove from the intake valves by hand, which is another reason that we offer walnut blasting at VRT – the process is so much less expensive and time-consuming than when we had to strip the engine in days gone by.
We’d recommend having your car engine walnut blasted for the first time before it reaches 40,000 miles and the frequency of walnut blasting from then on will depend very much on how much, and what type of driving you do.
